High PIP and UM-UIM Limits May Save You Money!
Many insurance agents tell customers to skip Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or Uninsured-Underinsured Motorist (UM-UIM) coverages. Agents do this to lower their customers’ premiums. This is a mistake! PIP and UM-UIM are very important!
PIP pays medical expenses and lost wages, no matter who is at fault in an accident. We recommend at least $5,000 or more in PIP coverage.
UM-UIM pays if you are hit by a driver with no insurance or small limits. Over 14% of Texas drivers are uninsured. Many more have low limits. We recommend at least $100,000 or more in UM-UIM coverage.
Liability insurance protects your assets, but PIP and UM-UIM coverages protect YOU.
Do not let your agent talk you out of PIP or UM-UIM. Take it from lawyers who represent people just like you. We have seen people with big liability insurance policies, whose agents talked them into no PIP and no UM-UIM coverage (or very small PIP limits and small UM-UIM limits). They paid for insurance coverage for everyone else, but not for themselves! What a bad idea!
Skimping on PIP and UM-UIM may cost you money, if you or a family member is injured in an accident. Do not make this mistake! Tell your insurance agent – raise my PIP and UM-UIM limits today!
